This extremely hard-to-find pattern is a hand-coloured version of the traditional WILLOW pattern, similar to Woods Pekin pattern.

HANKOW is unusual in having two different coloured transfers - a green border design with a beige central Willow design. The willow scene also has handpainted enamels added in green and red.

 
Hankow's distinctive green 'basketwork' border pattern (left) is also found in BLUE on various other Woods patterns, such as Sandown (right) and Vincent.
