Keeling & Co - Losol Ware

Welcome to our LOSOL gallery! The firm of Keeling & Co produced quality earthenwares from 1886 to 1936 in Burslem, Staffordshire. Early items have a mark featuring the figure of a potter, the date 1790, and the words "Late Mayers".

The trade name LOSOL was in use from 1912-1936 and items bearing this name are becoming increasingly collected. A typical LOSOL WARE piece will have strikingly brilliant colours often involving stylised fruits, flowers, butterflies, etc...

Although not LOSOL specialists, we have a small stock of items in the following patterns:

Andes - Argyll - Armado
Blantyre - Cavendish - Chandos - Chusan
Magnolia - Pagoda - Ross
Shanghai - Stirling - Suntrae - Willow

Please SCROLL DOWN to view an example of each pattern

Please note - this is not intended to be a complete listing of Losol patterns, which would run into several hundreds. Many designs do not have names - if you have items in patterns not shown here, please don't e-mail asking us to 'identify' them!

All the above patterns can be dated 1912-36. As far as we are aware, no records exist which enable the dating of individual patterns more closely. However, items that include the words 'MADE IN ENGLAND' in the mark can be assumed to be of a later date within this period than items marked 'ENGLAND' only.
